Mitch Baker is a native of Lumberton, North Carolina, and enjoyed the “Mayberry” lifestyle growing up. In line with his Southern Baptist upbringing, Mitch attended Wake Forest University, obtaining his B.S. in Biology in 1973 and his juris doctorate in 1976. Upon graduation, Mitch returned to his hometown and opened a general practice. Over the years, Mitch found his niche in personal injury litigation and as part of that practice developed an expertise in automobile insurance law. He eventually expanded his personal injury practice and opened offices in Wilmington, Elizabethtown, Shallotte and Fayetteville.

During the course of his career, Mitch has tried in excess of 100 civil cases to verdict and has handled many more cases that have been settled on the “courthouse steps.” His extensive experience includes the representation of clients in both State and Federal Courts from the trial level to the appellate level. In addition to his personal injury practice, Mitch calls upon his education as a Series 7 stockbroker and as a licensed life insurance agent to represent clients who have been victims of investment fraud.

He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. Mitch is recognized as one of the state’s leading authorities on insurance law and is a frequent speaker at seminars on that subject and on personal injury and trial techniques. He is proud to have received an AV® Peer Review Rating. See www.Martindale.com. Mitch is certified by the NC Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct mediated settlement conferences in Superior Court civil actions. Mitch has resided in Wrightsville Beach for many years with his wife, Connie, and they have created the Kenan Creek Foundation to support conservation of the tidal marshes..
